2010 Run 'Round the Rose 12 Mile Race Set for Saturday, July 24th, at 7am!
We are excited to announce the date for this year's event. Especially since it will compliment an existing race held in Detroit Lakes the weekend before. Now, runners training for a later marathon can get two great weeks of back-to-back races while the rest of us can enjoy a scenic run through the countryside of Minnesota in mid-July while assisting the American Diabetes Association.
While this race isn't the largest by any stretch of the imagination, everyone who takes part in it, or helps, loves the course and praises the cause. There have been many repeat local runners and volunteers from 2008/2009 and the race has attracted athletes from as far away as MI, IL, CO and IA.
The race begins at 7am and historically the temperature has been in the low 50s..... perfect running conditions. Registration opens at 6am and we will have a shuttle vehicle to take and pick-up relay runners from the various relay start/ending locations. A port-o-let is at the 6 mile mark and water stations are every 3 miles. Spanky's Stone Hearth Restaurant will be the location for post-race awards and they will provide snacks and refreshments for runners after the race.
