The inaugural Run 'Round the Rose will be held on Saturday, July 19th at 7am, departing from the regionally renown Spanky's Stone Hearth Restaurant and continuing for a 12 mile scenic route around beautiful Rose Lake.

Runners (individuals as well as 4 person relays) will find the route both scenic and challenging as it circles Rose Lake on black-top county roads and highways and maintained gravel/dirt secondary roads.  Lush farm fields, lake vistas, woodlands and dairy farms will provide participants plenty of Mother Nature to observe during their jaunt.

Medals will be awarded to the top 3 finalists in Men's, Women's and Relay categories, and top Male/Female Masters and top Clydesdales/Athenas.

And at the conclusion, the cool, clear waters of Rose Lake will revitalize the body for anyone who will take the plunge.

This event will be a timed race for athletes wishing to test their skill, but most importantly, the run will be a fundraiser for the American Diabetes Association.  Runners of all calibers will be running for a great cause - and the important part will be to complete the 12 miles and raise money for diabetes research.  And in the meantime, enjoy the sport we all love.  A post-run awards reception with beverages and snacks will follow at Spanky's Stone Hearth.
